What Clients Expect of their Dental Professionals

What Clients Expect of their Dental Professionals

4 November 20203 min read

Let's face it most people don't look forward to a trip to the dentist. Now we have found ourselves thrown into this world of 'change' and that's exactly what it is, everything has changed in the world of Dental Professionals. We have all had to embrace new standard operating procedures in our practices.  We want our patients to feel safe and happy!

It's important and paramount that all patients should have that 5-star treatment experience still. Did you know consumers who have better experiences and are more likely to spend their time and money with your business as a result? In fact, one study found that 92% of consumers reported that an employee’s perceived happiness had a direct impact on their customer experience with the brand. Happy employees equate to happy customers, which leads to sustained business growth. So we all need to be happy in the workplace.

We have also found out that in general, 30% of consumers who have had a negative customer experience say they would share it on social media or post a negative review online, nearly half (49%) of consumers who have had a positive customer experience say they would share it on social media or post a positive review online.

In the climate we have found ourselves in, dental patients still require that level of customer experience from the time they speak to a team member on reception right through to their dentist. A happy patient will more likely share their experience on social media giving great reviews and that's what we all want.

Business as Usual for Dental Professionals

Returning back after the first lockdown there have been stricter procedures and protocols in place and informing clients clear straight guidelines in place is comforting and making the patient feel safe and secure upon their return - having the right tools in place!

If you don't already have a Website, now is the time to set one up. Potential patients who have found you in the Yellow Pages can learn more about you on your website. Include information about the latest update on Covid-19 - have forms readily available to fill in - show a video - e-consultations set up - social media links or Perhaps your website needs a fresh look with a redesign?

Develop a newsletter that can be printed, delivered by e-mail, or both. Use the newsletter to showcase office services updates - new procedures and about the dentist and staff. Monthly newsletters can focus on a theme.

Word of mouth is still the best way to add new patients to your practice ... and it's free! Ask your current patients for referrals. Reward them with a gift card or small present.

It’s important for dental practices to communicate well with their patients all the time, but especially critical to have methods in place to stay in contact even when office hours are cut. I would say the number one thing is communication with patients and staff.

We are still in unchartered waters, this is probably the most challenging time you’ve ever faced— This is an ideal time to CALL Dental Marketing Expert we can offer practical solutions and maximise your optimisation strategies.
