Are You Still Going Abroad For Dental Treatment?
Dental Medical Holidays play a big part in today's world as a large percentage of the UK population seeks to go abroad for their dental treatment. It is our view that it is a great time to be promoting and marketing UK Dental Surgeries. Particularly after the opening of the current Covid-19 lockdown.
Much like the tourist industry that is expecting an increase in “stay-cations”, we believe the dental industry in the UK can meet the near-term need for surgical procedures that would otherwise have been taken as Dental Medical Holidays.
Here is why we think that UK Dentists should prepare and market their business:
With the aviation industry on its knees at the time of writing this blog, a heightened concern with flying is apparent in public opinion. Airline analyst John Strickland, of JLS Consulting, says: “Even if they have the money to fly, I think people will be apprehensive.” *
This coupled with a somewhat confusing and very independent approach by each country to lock down rules and testing leaves the general public baffled about where and if it’s safe to visit specific countries.
With the UK dental industry now offering hundreds of finance options from PAYGO to Interest-free; affordability may be key as consumers get savvy with their cash in anticipation of a potential recession.
We also believe the aftercare element will be at the forefront of peoples thinking from now on. How many took the NHS for granted until the recent wake-up call? Offering comprehensive dental aftercare will be an important element in any client buying decision.
Is this Short Term?
Well Maybe, But Maybe Not…
Right now, airlines are starting to offer cheap seats, but the public is concerned. When the public normalises to the new way of travel, we could see air tickets skyrocket as demand has lowered. Analysis by US-based Dollar Flight Club, based on patterns after previous crises, predicts average fare falls of 35% through 2021, but for prices to then double by 2025.*
The main sales message of Dental Health Holidays appears to have been to save money.
With the reality of higher costs and uncertainty – Do you think more clients will stay in the UK for their dental surgeries?
